Project Associate

 

This position is designed to expose bioengineering, life science and chemistry graduates to different areas in biomedical product development such as design and development, quality assurance and regulatory affairs, as well as scientific validation of biomedical devices. There are also opportunities to learn about biomedical product support and distribution.

 

Four Project Associate positions are currently open for application:

Product Development

Project Associate - Product Development

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Define user requirements and product specifications

  • Work with project team members to design mechanical part drawings

  • Prepare 2D drawings from 3D models

  • Generate Bill of Materials

  • Ensure all critical, functional dimensions and required specifications are met

  • Support project in the aspects of engineering and design work; sub-system sourcing and costing estimation work

  • Involved in project execution work, trial testing, prototyping building work, etc.

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree in Bioengineering or Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Biomedical Engineering.

  • Familiar with product development cycle

  • Experience in generating engineering drawings with involvement in mechanical design and Bill of Materials will be an asset.

  • Technically competent in mechanical design, engineering analysis and project executions.

  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD) and in various office tools.

  • Good command of written English and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Possess a hands-on attitude and highly committed; able to handle project work and multi-task; good attitude, excellent communication skills and great team player.

Project Associate - Life Sciences

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with project team members to design and conduct experiments.

  • Carry out biological optimization and validation of new products.

  • Generate lists of laboratory equipment, materials and reagents required.

  • Work together with engineering, scientific and marketing teams in development, customization and packaging of products.

  • Involved in project management, budgeting and product validation.

 

Requirements

 

  • Honours degree in Life Sciences.

  • Internship experience in research-related or start-up roles advantageous.

  • Familiar with experimental protocols and common laboratory techniques.

  • Good command of written English and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented.

  • Possess a hands-on attitude and highly committed; able to handle project work and multi-task; good attitude, excellent communication skills and great team player.

Project Associate - Quality Assurance

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Set up and maintain quality management system for biomedical startup companies (i.e. ISO 9001/ ISO 13485).

  • Manage design and development documentation.

  • Handle regulatory compliance of biomedical devices (e.g. CE marking, FDA approval).

  • Assist in internal audits.

  • Provide engineering and administrative support to the product development and project teams in the development, customization and production of medical devices and products.

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree in Bioengineering or Life Sciences.

  • Internship experience in QA-related role advantageous.

  • Good command of written English and excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented.

  • Possess a hands-on attitude and highly committed; able to handle project work and multi-task; good attitude, excellent communication skills and great team player.
